Carer - Full/Part Time

Purpose of Role:

To attend to the physical, emotional and social needs of residents under direction of the Care leader, working on a rota basis as laid down by the Registered Manager.

 

To promote the philosophy of privacy, dignity, independence, choice, rights and fulfilment for the resident, within a policy of managed risk taking. Starting Hourly Rate is £10.50 per hour.

 

Principal Duties;

  • All aspects of physical care, working as part of a team but capable of working unsupervised.
  • Act as key carer to residents, ensuring their needs are met. To contribute to a separate file record for each resident and to participate in the formulation and implementation of individual care plans. (This could involve some shopping, but carers should not become further involved in the financial affairs of residents unless directed by the Care Leader.
    The Carer is accountable to the Care Leader.
  • Observe residents wishes with regard to pattern of daily living. Organise and participate in activities and outings involving residents in planning where possible.
  • Act as escort where necessary, company uniform is not permitted to be worn in these circumstance( see company handbook)
  • Understand responsibilities in relation to health & safety, food hygiene, fire precautions and emergency procedures, infection control and emergency first aid.

Team Leader - Full/Part Time

Purpose of Role:

To assist principally in the day-day management and continuity of Care of the residents To attend to the physical, emotional and social needs of the residents, working on a rota basis laid down and under the direction of the Registered Manager.

 

Principal Duties;

  • Organise and support care assistance, domestic and kitchen team throughout a shift of work to provide safe and effective resident care.
  • Be able to appropriately delegate tasks with to people that have the skills and abilities to perform that task.
  • Assist in the formal supervision of other carers
  • Administration of Medications
  • Carry out 6 monthly Care reviews with family/multi-disciplinary team
  • Understand responsibilities in relation to Health & Safety, food Hygiene, fire precautions and emergency procedures, infection control and emergency first Aid.
  • Ensuring the Health & Safety of the residents. Report any Health & Safety issues or equipment failures following the correct procedures.
  • Communicate effectively verbally and in writing accurately to colleagues and Registered Manager.
  • Keep your registration and CPD file up to date
  • Supervise residents at mealtimes ensuring that they have a satisfactory intake of nutrition consistent with their preferences and needs and recording where necessary as per care plan

Domestic Assistant - Part Time

Location: The Grove Care Home

Purpose of Role:

Working as part of a Team, responsibilities include ensuring Resident’s Rooms, Toilets, Bathrooms and Public Areas within The Home are cleaned to the highest standards.

 

Principal Duties;

  • To clean all parts of the Home as directed
  • To assist in monitoring stock levels of Cleaning Materials
  • To carry out such duties with particular regard to accident and fire prevention
  • To ensure generally a high standard of cleanliness in the Home
  • To report any problems or concerns of the House Keeper
  • To undertake other duties as necessary
  • To assist with Laundry and Kitchen duties if required.

 

Experience of working in this area would be an advantage; however there are no formal qualifications required and full training will be given. The successful applicant will be required to have an enhanced Disclosure/PVG.

Kitchen Assistant / Porter - Full/Part Time

Purpose of Role:

Reporting to the Catering Manager, the role involves keeping the Kitchen and Store to the highest possible standard of cleanliness.

 

Principal Duties;

  • To ensure all crockery is washed, both manually and using the Dishwasher
  • To ensure clean and hygienic maintenance of all areas within the Kitchen and Store to required standards
  • To assist the Cook with the preparation and serving of meals as and when required
  • To set Tables
  • To assist with Residents as required within the Dining Room
  • To be familiar with and have an understanding of the Environmental Health Regulations
  • To dispose of waste correctly
  • To report any problems or concerns to the Catering Manager
  • To undertake any other duties as necessary
  • Full driving licence an advantage but not essential

 

Experience of working in this area and an elementary food hygiene certificate would be an advantage; however there are no formal qualifications required and full training will be given. The successful applicant will be required to have an enhanced Disclosure/PVG.
